Biography: Dr Elmualim is a senior lecturer and one of the leading academics within the £3.5 m EPSRC-funded Innovative Construction Research Centre (ICRC) within the School of Construction Management and Engineering. Dr Elmualim also coordinates the work of the Sustainable Design and FM Informatics Research Group within the School in addition to the FM Research Group that he co-established six years ago. The Sustainable Design and FM Informatics Research Group he is currently leading consists of 6 PhD students, 3 EngD and 1 researcher conducting research in various socio-technical aspects of digital technology and sustainability within an FM context. Commensurate with his vision of engaging with various firms to reconnect the research agenda with the reality of the construction sector, Dr Elmualim is led several collaborative research projects with industry funded by the TSB/DTI as part of the Knowledge Transfer Partnership scheme and the Spearhead Technology Transfer programme in coll! aboration with firms such as Max Fordham, Nationwide, Jacobs and BIFM, FSI and the Asset Factor (Helical Bar). Teaching in various modules at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Modules include FM, Environmental aspect of design and passive design, Environmental requirements and Environmental systems, architectural/construction sciences, sustainable construction and FM, and Intelligent Buildings.
