Biography: Vivian Hsueh-hua Chen is an assistant professor in Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. She received her PhD in Communication from Arizona State University, USA; M.S. degree in Speech Communication and M.A. degree in English from Syracuse University, USA; and a B.A. in Philosophy from National Chengchi University, Taiwan. She is an associate editor of the Journal of International and Intercultural Communication and Computer in Entertainment. Her research interests include the interplay between culture and communication, how technology brings changes in communication behaviors, the social impact of digital media. She has received several research grants on game research with the most recent one at 1.1 million USD. Her current research projects focus on the effect of gaming on adolescents as well as educational games on mobile platform.
