Biography: Er-Wei Bai was educated in Fudan University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, both in Shanghai, China, and received the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of California at Berkeley in 1987. Currently he is a Professor of electrical and computer engineering and radiology at the University of Iowa, Ames, where he teaches and conducts research in identification, control, signal processing, and their applications in engineering and life science. He also holds the title of World Class Research Professor (in System Identification) at the School of Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Queen's University, Belfast, UK. He has written one hundred and fifty journal papers and served as an editor, associate editor, editorial board member and program committee member for a number of international journals and conferences. Dr. Bai is a recipient of the President's Award for Teaching Excellence and the Board of Regents Award for Faculty Excellence. He is a Fellow of the IEEE since 2004.
