Biography: Joachim is an eResearch support specialist with extensive experience in supporting High Performance Computing. He was formerly head of the IT group for the State Bureau of Statistics, Lower Saxony, Germany (Landesamt fuer Statistik). Joachim has a PhD in computational chemistry, and undertook postdoctoral fellowships in the US and Spain. Joachim’s research areas include statistical physics, polymer physics, protein folding, chemical reactions on surfaces, computational chemistry and models of spreading diseases. He has studied at the Technical University of Braunschweig, University of Kiel, University of Freiburg, University of Southern California at San Diego and Universidad de Barcelona.
