Abstract:

Growth Hormone is believed to be widely abused in sport. It is a naturally occurring substance so testing for doping is not the same as detection. In this talk I will describe my experiences working with the Garvan Pituitary Research Unit and the World Anti-Doping Agency, some of which are statistical! We will touch on issues using a single biomarker (p=1), multiple biomarkers (p=6) and microarray data (p=41,000).

This seminar was recently presented to the Statistical Society of Australia (NSW branch).
